Stanislav Hanzík

Stanislav Hanzík (1931–2021) is one of the most prominent figures in Czech sculpture of the 20th century. In his work, he managed to combine classical sculptural values ​​with deep humanism and the spiritual power of expression. His works carry a strong existential overtone and are unmistakable in their expressiveness; they can be found, for example, in the National Theatre, in Karolin, or in the Prague Castle district, as well as in many other places in Prague and other cities in our republic.

The exhibition at the Terezín Memorial commemorates his rich work and legacy, which still speaks to the viewer today with its sensitivity, power and formal refinement.
