The exhibition commemorates the 230th anniversary of the first porcelain firing in Klášterec nad Ohří. Although the topic of Czech porcelain, its historical and artistic development has long been perceived as an important chapter of Czech applied art and has become a partial part of several exhibition and publication projects (Biedermeier, monographs Slavkov, Klášterec, Březová), it has not yet been followed in a comprehensive art historical overview.
The exhibition will present the development of the production of Czech porcelain throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, from the initial efforts of the founders of the first porcelain manufactories to contemporary design work, in a comprehensive manner and on the basis of the latest knowledge.
